Panel participants the 12th of September

-Information-

In relation to the production and launch of “Social Innovation – A Travel Guide”, (which is a handbook that gives people an overview of Social Innovation (SI) and how to take action within the field) the Kaospilots will host a one day conference about Social Innovation.

The conference will take place the 12th of September 2008.

The purpose is to make the term more tangible and inspire the people to take more responsibility for the world around them.

At the conference several events will be happening. The day is divided in three parts.

  1. a workshop for Kaospilot- and ASB (Århus School of Business) students with the focus “What is SI?”."
  2. a panel dialogue with approximately 10 special invited guests who will focus on “Why SI is important and how it can be implemented more in society, businesses and projects”."
  3. a book launch of “Social Innovation – A Travel Guide” produced by team 13 at the Kaospilots."

You have been invited for part 2 and 3.

The following section will give more information about the content of the conference's part 2 and 3. The program and structure is still under development so this is a brief overview of our thoughts so far. We will keep on updating this site and send e-mail when something relevant to your participation occurs.

Part 2: The Panel dialogue (1.00-4.00pm)

We are aiming at having 10 participants in the panel dialogue. The participants have been invited as representatives from one or more of the following sectors; Civic sector, Public sector Private sector and are working with social entrepreneurship in each their fields.

A host will guide the dialogue and we have space for 400 people in the audience. The purpose for the audience is to listen to the dialogue, ask questions and get inspired. We will invite the Kaospilots network (businesses, organisations, education institutions), students from Århus and different companies who has an interest in SI.

All panel participants will receive the book “Social Innovation – A Travel Guide” prior to the conference. The book will be the foundation for the dialogue. Furthermore we expect the panel to talk about their experience working in the field and there by inspire and motivate the people in the audience to take action with in SI. We hope more people will see the importance of thinking social and/or sustainable aspects into the business or projects that they work with.

The 20th of August a working group will be formed to make a detailed program for the 3 hours with guiding questions and expectations. We will post it on the site and send you the information needed, when it's ready.

Part 3: The book launch (4.00-6.00 PM)

The launch will contain a few speeches, drinks and time for mingling. It will be possible to buy the book at the event as well. It is optional if you want to stay for this event, but we hope to see every one who has been involved during the day in this less formal setting.
